Lets all go to the lobby, lets all go to the lobby, lets all go to the lobby and get ourselves a treat.
I only have council TV and a few free view channels, and I am ok with that, as I know if I venture into Netflix or Amazon Prime, I will be doomed forever to lie on the couch in a semi vegetative state. Between you and me, I don’t even have WIFI but the lady next door, my pal’s aunty lets me run off hers, she’s a pure diamond.
One thing I am really missing during lockdown is going to the pictures, I have a monthly pass and being a tight bastard, I like to make the most of it.
The other night there was hee haw on the TV and I was bored out my nut so I decided I was going to the pictures, btw wait till you hear this a couple of months ago I was in the lift leaving work and told someone (a younger person) I was going to the pictures and they said “The pictures, you got your jam jar to get in” fuckin cheeky bastard, young people have no respect!
Apparently, it’s called the cinema, my bad sorry, so off I went to the CINEMA, I headed down to the Parkhead forge, popped into Asda, got myself a two litre bottle of Fanta, a variety pack of popcorn, a sharing pack of revels, a litre tub of Hagen Daz summer berries needed to get one of my five a day, and just in case I bought some Doritos, pre grated cheese, a salsa dip and a jar of jalapenos, Sorted.
I parked outside Cineworld, got out the car, walked round it entered the passenger door and showed myself my pass, oh boy I’ve aged since I have had it taken, I never look at it, and I wish I hadn’t, I am wearing a lilac fleece in the picture, a lilac fleece, it must have been a Christmas present from my mum and I was feeling the guilt so had put it on.
I hummed and hawed like a job’s worth, should I let myself in? that could be my mum’s pass? Eventually I gave myself the benefit of the doubt and let me in. I spread my food out on the seat next to me, I cried a wee bit when I looked at the share pack of revels, I downloaded the two most recent episodes of that lesbian programme Killing Eve (it wasn’t what I thought) put the phone on the dash, reclined the seat and settled in. What a great night out in!
Note to self - Update picture for the PICTURES!
